Our field is now the "Dale Westmoreland Field"!

  • Some things are just right. This is. Thanks to Coach Hernandez and many others, the Klein ISD school board, on Monday , May 14th, named the baseball field at Klein Oak in honor of our legendary former head coach, Dale Westmoreland.

  • Klein Oak Baseball was sorry in the first few years of our school. We were a football, basketball and soccer power. But we couldn't win baseball games.
  • Players used to come to your webmaster in tears, saying "they don't coach us; they just yell at us.
  • Then Dale Westmoreland arrived on campus in 1988 and our players got plenty of coaching. They also got to win for the first time. A winning record in year one. A district title in year two. In 1991 the Panthers played in the state title game, falling just short to Clear Creek.
  • Back to back to back district titles and another trip to state. Alas, falling to Lubbock Monterery in the State Championship game in 1996.
  • The winning continued until "Westy" left us. But, thanks to him, and although we're suffered one sub .500 season since then, Panther Baseball has always been among the premier programs in the state. Still are.
  • Welcome home to Coach Dale Westmoreland and his wife Margaret! We missed you, Coach, but we knew that you still bled Black and Gold!

Summer Camp!

Season ends with 2 losses at Mumford 2-0 and 3-0.

  • It was the most frustrating day, not only for this team, but also in the history of KO Baseball.
  • In two games, the Panthers managed one hit and zero runs. The Panthers hit several right to the wall. They would have been homers in any other park, or if the wind was calm or out at Mumford. Other hits would have dropped if not held up by the incoming wind. And when the Panthers hit the ball on the ground, all but one was right at a Stony Point defender.
  • Our Panthers were warriors from the first inning of game two to the 7th inning of game three. It just wasn't meant to be.
  • Kudos to the Panther pitchers, who kept our guys in it until the final out. Some of these guys were blaming themselves. That makes no sense when we didn't score a single run in two games. It just wasn't any pitchers fault. And it was great to see Cash McNicholas back on the mound after several weeks injured. Great job, Cash! Special kudos to the awesome Hunter Smith. Hunter entered game two in the 7th with little notice. Somehow he managed to get out of the 7th inning with no runs scored. That's because he is a warrior. Then he did it again in game three, when he came in directly from left field. You are our hero, Hunter!
  • Panthers, you have nothing to hang your heads about. You played well until the end. We nearly turned a triple play in game three. Our senior middle infield turned a double play in their final play on the field. Well done, guys! Photo gallery is now complete for game 2. Game 3 is still to come.
  • Finally, a personal note from your webmaster. You guys improved so much since this season started. You fought hard all the way to the final out. I love you for that and for the awesome people that you are. Thanks for allowing me to share the season with you. You made us so proud. Thanks for all the great moments and the great memories of a great team! We love you guys!
  • For you Seniors, thanks for the four years of memories and the great leadership. For everyone else, next year starts right now, and it should be something special. I don't think we have ever had so much varsity level talent returning. We can't wait for February 2019!

Panthers defeat Stony Point in game 1, 6-3!

  • Nice work, Panthers!
  • Tyler Thompson gave the Panthers a quality start, going 3.2 innings while allowing 3 runs on 4 hits and 3 BBs with 4 Ks. Tyler left with the game tied at 3 so reliever Kevin Hoy got the win, going 3.1 innings while allowing 0 runs on 1 hit and 2 BBs with 4 Ks.
  • The Panthers took a 2-0 lead in the 2nd. But we have to give credit in part to a great, heroic catch by right fielder Bryson Kemp that ended the first inning. Bryson went full speed into the right field fence to make the final 1st inning out. That fired up the Panthers. Great job, Bryson! Then Dalton Egelston walked, Josh Rodriguez singled then advanced to 2nd on the throw while Dalton scored. Caden McMullen singled to put Josh on 3rd. A double steal resulted in Josh out at 3rd and Caden at 2nd. Hunter Smith doubled to the right field fence to score Caden. 2-0 Panthers.
  • The Panthers took a 3-0 lead in the 4th. Caden McMullen walked and advanced to 3rd on a passed ball. Brent Morgan doubled to bat in Caden.
  • In the bottom of the 4th a really well executed squeeze bunt got the Tigers back into it, scoring two runs with the bases loaded. The Tigers tied the game with a single. KO 3; SP 3 after 4.
  • In the top of the 6th, Josh Rodriguez singled, Hunter Smith singled, Brent Morgan walked, then a Bryson Kemp pop fly was mishandled and Bryson reached first, and Josh, Hunter and Brent all scored. KO 6; SP 3.
  • Kevin Hoy finished the job to give the Panthers the game 1 win. Way to go, Oak! Photo gallery

Congratulations, Drake Dalton!

Area Round: Panthers vs. Round Rock Stony Point

  • 3 game series with alll games at Mumford

    Mumford Baseball Field

    9055 FM 50, Hearne, TX 77859

  • Friday at 7 pm
  • Saturday at 5 pm
  • Game 3 (if needed) will follow game 2 by 30 minutes.
  • Game program (PDF).
  • By the way, our #4 seed Memorial beat 16-6A Champ Spring 2-0 (11-3 and 5-0; Way to go Mustangs! Your webmasterster is a Memorial alum.) Our #3 seed Klein beat Aldine McArthur 2-1. Our #1seed Collins beat Westfield 2-0. District sweep!

Panthers 9, Aldine Davis 0!

  • The Panthers were held in check by a slow pitching lefty for the first couple of innings, but struck for three in the third, two in the fourth, and four in the fifth to put the game away.
  • Tyler Thompson pulled a muscle while on the mound in the first inning. He still threw a 0 on the board but had to give way to Devon Patel for the 2nd. Devon was brilliant for five innings - 2 hits, 1 BB and 12 Ks - and then Kevin Hoy threw the final 0 on the board in the 7th to send the Panthers to the Area Round!
  • The offensive highlight was what could have been a grand slam home run in the fifth by left fielder Hunter Smith. It wasn't only because Tyler Thompson scored from third on a passed ball before Hunter could connect. So he settled for a three run homer. Way to go, Hunter! Kyle Bearden had a triple and Caden McMullen a double that just missed the fence.
  • Great job, Panthers! Thanks for playing hard and making us proud! Read the Houston Chronicle story. Photo gallery (incomplete).
  • The Panthers will play either Round Rock Stoney Point or Austin Bowie in the Area Round. Stoney Point grabbed a 1-0 lead in the that series Wednesday night. We'll see what happens Friday and Saturday.

Bi-District Playoff is single game at Davis on Thursday at 7 pm

  • Well, that's not what we hoped for but it's what we got. Make the most of it Panthers! Let's get a win on Thursday night and enjoy the weekend!
  • The Panthers play the Falcons at Davis HS on Thursday night at 7 pm. Davis is at 12525 Ella Blvd., Houston, TX 77067. [Click the link at left for Google Map.] Take I-45 South to Rankin, turn right on Rankin and left on Ella. The school is on the right and the field is behind the school.

Varsity claims #2 seed with win over Stratford 6-2!

  • Amazing job, Panthers! It wasn't easy, but the Panthers came up clutch - trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the 5th. Hunter Smith led off the inning with a walk. Then Brent Morgan singled (but was out at 2nd on a steal attempt), Hunter scored on a passed ball (2-1 Stratford), Kyle Bearden walked, Tyler Thompson walked, Dalton Egleston tied the score at two with a fly ball to right field, Dalton Stevenson gave the Panthers the lead on a 2 RBI double. Panthers 4; Stratford 2. Then Josh Rodriguez was hit by a pitch smack on his left elbow. The plate umpire called a foul ball. So Josh just hit the ball over the left field fence, scoring Dalton also. Panthers 6; Stratford 2. Way to make the most of another opportunity, Josh!
  • That was three runs more than Kevin Hoy needed to secure the win [in another spectacular relief effort for Devon Patel, who had extricated himself from deep trouble (bases loaded with no outs) in the 2 run 4th (aided by a great throw by catcher Cash McNicholas to complete a double play at the plate and 2nd base)]. Kevin closed the fifth and threw 0s on the board in the 6th and 7th. Good stuff!
  • Photo gallery. Pre-Game is now posted. The others are coming. [About 2200 in all!]
  • KC defeated Klein this night to claim the district title. Congratulations to the Tigers. The Panthers finished one game back at 10-4 to claim the #2 seed. That is just a tremendous accomplishment after all the great players we lost to graduation last year. The Panthers will face Aldine Davis in bi-district play next week. Details TBA. Klein and Memorial finished at 9-5 and will have a playoff for the #3 seed on Saturday at Langham Creek.
  • On a personal note. I had a fire that destroyed my garage on Monday afternoon. [We got it out before it got into my house, so the important stuff, like my cats, are all perfectly fine!] Before the game tonight the booster club presented me with a sign I will treasure forever, signed by all of our Panthers and our Diamond Girls. That plus a check for $1,000 from Charlie's Helping Hands - arranged by Sophomore team mom Mandi Shultz (aka Clayton Westbrook's mom!). Other teams may claim that they are family; I learned tonight that our Panther family's claim is no idle boast. I'm honored and humbled by the show of support. Thanks to everyone. It means everything to me. I'm even more honored just to be a part of a group of such amazing people!

JV beats Stratford 9-8!

  • The Panthers scored six runs in the fifth inning to get the win.
  • Logan Balmanno allowed four runs on four hits and 2 BBs with 2 Ks. Luke McCoy finished the game, allowing four runs on 0 hits and 0 BBs with three Ks.
  • Blaine Birner led the offense with two hits, including a double. Kyle Bishop had a triple.
  • Great win to end a great season, Panthers. District Champs! We are so proud of you! Photo gallery.

Sophomores beat Stratford 5-4, claim a share of district crown!

  • Congratulations to a great group of young Panthers on a championship season! We are so very, very proud of all of you!
  • The final game was a war, with the Panthers claiming the win with three runs in the 5th and final inning.
  • Ryan Collins got the start and the win, pitching four innings with no hits, 6 BBs and 4 Ks. Evan Shore finished the job in the 5th with 1 run on 1 hit and 1 BB.
  • Carson Ritz tied the game with a single in the fifth, scoring Braydon Burciaga (who had singled). A Clayton Westbrook line drive scored Carson to give the Panthers the lead. Clayton scored on an error for the winning run.

Varsity outlasts Stratford 3-2!

  • Great complete game win by Tyler Thompson on the mound! One homerun was the only scoring allowed.
  • Bryson Kemp and Dalton Egleston both had two hits. Caden McMullen had two big RBIs.
  • The win clinckes a playoff spot for the Panthers! Which spot will depend on what happens on Friday.

JV beats Stratford 12-5!

  • Billy Brown got the complete game win - 6 hits, 3 BBs with 6 Ks.
  • Kaden Kleinert led the offense with three hits. Photo gallery from Ms. Brown!

Sophomores down Stratford 11-1 in 6 innings!

  • Anthony Venturella got the win on the mound - 6 hits, 2 BBs with 4 Ks.
  • Colin Lovelace had three hits to lead the offense.

Varsity gets back on the winning track, 7-4 over Spring Woods!

  • Wow! Winning is fun! Nice work, Panthers!
  • The Panthers were nearly flawless, but Woods wasn't far behind and the game was tied 4-4 after 4 1/2 innings. But the Panthers added two in the bottom of the fifth and one in the bottom of the sixth to secure the win.
  • Devon Patel got the win on the mound - six innings with six hits, three walks and four Ks. Tyler Thompson threw an amazing 7th inning, with 2 Ks for a never a doubt ending to the game.
  • Bryson Kemp had a home run! Brent Morgan had a double. [It looked like he had two but no.] He did have two hits, as did Bryson and Tyler. Josh Rodriguez had a big 2 RBI single after a nice Adam Houck sac bunt to tie the game in the 2nd. Photo gallery (All posted).
  • The Panthers finish with two games against Stratford next week. Two wins and they probably get the two seed (unless Klein beats KC twice next week, in which case we have a tri-championship and ....). One win next week and the Panthers are in the playoffs. Two losses and the Panthers will have to watch others play. We're behind you, Panthers! Beat Stratford!

Sophomores beat Spring Woods 20-2 in three innings!

  • The game apparently was called after the Panthers took a 20-2 lead in the top of the third. I'm not sure why.
  • Ryan Collins got the win on the mound.

JV beats Spring Woods 10-0 in 6 innings!

  • Logan Balmanno allowed just one hit and two BBs with four Ks over five innings. Jackson Jarratt finished the shutout in the sixth.
  • Blaine Birner and Jake Laird both had two hits. Colton Hitt had a double with three RBIs. Myles Castor also had a double.
  • Nice work, Panthers!

Varsity falls to Spring Woods 5-0.

  • It's hard to win when you don't score, and the Panthers suffered that fate for the second Tuesday in a row.
  • Backs against the wall time, Panthers. Leadership needed. Come out swining!

JV downs Spring Woods 6-5!

  • A walk off single by starting pitcher Luke McCoy gave the Panthers the win. Ethan Litherland, though, got the win on Luke's single. Ethan threw a 0 on the board in relief in the 7th with the scored tied at 5.
  • Luke, Cameron Tobola (who doubled) and Lawson Wachel all had two hits. Photo gallery from Ms. Brown!

Sophomores down Spring Woods 12-2 in 5 innings!

  • Nice job by Evan Shore - who got the win - and Ryan Collins on the mound.
  • The hits were well distributed, as nobody had multiple hits.
  • Photo gallery, from Mr. Nelson. Part 1 and 2 are now posted; others are coming.

Sophomores beat Cain 15-2 in 5 innings!

  • Anthony Venturella got the win on the mound in this twice delayed game - 2 runs on 5 hits with 1 BB and 4 Ks.
  • Colin Lovelace led the offense with three hits (1 double) and three RBIs. Bryce Burks added two hits and four RBIs.

Sophomores beat Collins 7-4!

  • Bryce Burks got the complete 6 inning win on the mound, allow 4 runs on 6 hits and 3 BBs with 7 Ks.
  • Photo gallery.

JV falls to Collins 12-3

  • This was not our JV's best effort. It was 2-2 after one, but nothing good happened after that.
  • Photo gallery

Varsity drops a heartbreaker to KC, 4-3 in 8 innings.

  • The Panthers got a great start from Devon Patel - 5 2/3 innings, 2 runs on 1 hit and 4 BBs.
  • The game was tied after 7, 2-2. The Panthers took the lead in th top of the 8th on a Dalton Stevenson homerun. But they couldn't hold it. They were one out away from a 3-2 win, but a walk tied it and a single gave the Tigers the victory and a 1 game lead in the district race.
  • Still, it was a great effort by the Panthers. Put the disappointment behind you guys. 4 games left and we need four wins. Find a way!

JV beats Collins 11-2!

  • Logan Balmanno got the win on the mound, pitching six innings and allowing 2 runs on six hits, 1 BB and 7 Ks. Ethan Litherland closed it out in the 7th.
  • Blaine Birner had a home run. Kaden Kleinert, Christian Huerta and Billy Brown all had two hits; Billy's included a double and Kaden's a triple! Nice work, Panthers!

Sophomores beat Collins 9-6!

  • Anthony Venturella got the win on the mound, pitching five innings and allowing 6 runs on 6 hits and 4 BBs with 8 Ks.
  • Anthony and Michael Dungan both had two hits and 3 RBIs. Dungan and Matthew Battista (1 RBI and 2 walks) both had doubles!

Varsity falls to Collins 7-0

  • The best thing about this game is that it is over. The Panthers are now tied with the Tigers in 1st place. Game 2 is in the offing. Turn the page, Panthers. Regroup. We believe in you! Go win game 2!
  • Photo gallery. Part of these are now posted. Others coming.

Notes as Memory Book deadline looms

  • About 5,000 extra pictures have been uploaded to the galleries this weekend, so check them out. The deadline for submitting ads for the Memory Book is Wednesday.
  • That picture total includes some awesome pics of our Sophomore group from Tammy Qualls that I've put in a miscellaneous gallery because they are from multiple games - College Park, Klein, KF and Northbrook.
  • Also huge thanks to Suzy Broussard and Amy Brown for taking pictures for us. They are included in the galleries. More are coming.

Sophomore team's Saturday game vs. Cain - Postponed

  • Due to the wet field, of course.
  • Game is rescheduled to next Saturday (April 14th) at noon at Klein Cain.

Varsity beats Northbrook 16-0 in 5!

  • Devon Patel got the win on the mound as the Panthers scored 7 in the top of the first and Devon threw a zero on the board. Then left for Kevin Hoy, Mason Dietel, Cash McNicholas, and Drake Dalton. Five pitchers in five innings.

JV downs Cain 5-0!

  • Luke McCoy got the win, allowing 3 hits and 2 BBs with 6 Ks over 6 innings. Jacob Mata finished the job in the 7th.
  • The Panthers scored two in the 4th and three in the 5th. Blaine Birner had three hits and two RBIs. Coy Garner had two hits and one RBI.
  • Photo gallery.

  • Nobody had multiple hits as the Panthers spread out the offense. They only suffered three outs in the third. In the other innings they left the field after five runs.

  • The Panthers had plenty of offense. Cash McNicholas had a homer! Brent Morgan had two hits. Bryson Kemp and Tyler Thompson had two RBIs. Justin Barnes, Kyle Bearden, Brent Morgan and Josh Rodriguez had triples.
  • Photo gallery

JV defeats Cain 4-1!

  • Billy Brown got the win on the mound, with a 7th inning assist from Logan Balmanno.
  • Coy Garner led the offense with 2 RBIs on one hit.
  • Photo gallery. 2nd Photo gallery.

Sophomores down Northbrook 25-3!

  • Ryan Collins got the win on the mound over three innings. Logan Ornelas pitched the final two.
  • The Panthers scored five runs each inning and only suffered three outs in the fifth. 18 hits were split among the team with Braydon Burciaga having a triple and Colin Lovelace, Nolan McConnell, Clayton Westbrook, and Ryan Collins had doubles.

Finding a way to win! Panthers 7; Bearkats 5!

  • How about those Panthers!
  • Oak starter Devon Patel and Klein starter Ruben Aguirre threw 0s on the board in the first two innings. The Bearkats struck first in the top of the third with one run. The Panthers answered in the bottom. Brent Morgan singled, Kyle Bearden doubled, then an error by Klein's shortstop allowed Bryson Kemp to reach and Brent to score. An errant pickoff attempt allowed Kyle to score. 2-1 Panthers.
  • After a walk and a single to lead of the Bearkat 5th, Justin Barnes replaced Devon on the mound. A wild pitch and a single tied the game for KHS 2-2. The Panthers answered with an Adam Houck walk, a Brent Morgan single, a Bryson Kemp walk and Tyler Thompson ground ball. Oak 3; KHS 2.
  • Bearkats answer in top of 6th on a single and a big triple by Nathan Wellman. Wellman scored on a wild pitch. KHS 4; Oak 3.
  • After two quick outs in the bottom of the 6th things looked bleak for our Panthers. Then Drake Dalton reached on an error, Warren Blair reached on an error and a Brent Morgan single (Brent had 4 hits on the day) tied the game, scoring Wesley Casey (running for Dalton). 4-4. Kyle Beardon singles to score Warren. 5-4 Oak. Bryson Kemp doubles to score Brent and Kyle 7-4 Oak.
  • Tyler Thompson took the mound after two outs but the bases loaded on the top of the 7th. [The Panthers missed a double play opportunity that would have ended the game for Justin.] He surrendered one run by a walk, then struck out the next batter. Panthers win 7-5!
  • Another amazing victory by a bunch of calm and poised, but resolute and resilient Panthers. We are so proud of these young men!
  • Photo gallery.

Varsity beats Klein 5-2!

  • Good pitching, timely hitting and some fancy leather flashing made for a great win at Bearkat Park for our Panthers.
  • The Panthers squandered an opportunity for a 1st inning lead. It was the Bearkats who grabbed a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. But Cash McNicholas got out of it with no further damage and threw 0s on the board in the 2nd and 3rd.
  • Meanwhile the Panthers grabbed the lead with three runs in the top of the 2nd. A walk by Josh Rodriguez led off the inning, then Wesley Casey doubled. Josh scored and Wesley advanced to 3rd. A Kyle Bearden single gave the Panthers a 2-1 lead and a Bryson Kemp double scored Kyle to make it 3-1.
  • AFter 1 out in the bottom of the 4th Cash encountered some trouble. Enter Kevin Hoy with the bases loaded and 1 out. A groundout scored a run to make it 3-2 Panthers but then Kevin got his first K to end the inning. Great work, Kevin!
  • The Panthers added a couple of insurance runs in the top of the 5th. Bryson Kemp doubled to the wall, Tyler Thompson walked. Then, with two outs, Josh Rodriguez hit a ground ball that scored two on an errant throw to first.
  • Adam Houck made what may be the play of the year in the bottom of the 6th. With one out, Klein's first baseman hit what looked like a shot to left field. The only question was whether KO left fielder Wesley Casey could catch it. We'll never know because - well, who knew that Adam Houck has about a four foot vertical leap? He does, and he showed it off, snagging that ball in his extended glove. Somehow his shoulder is still in it's socket (it was a shot!). Kevin got a groundout to end the inning.
  • The Panthers needed three outs. Kyle Bearden used all his speed and all his heart and every inch of his body to get the first one on an amazing, diving catch in left center field! Wow! Kevin got a strikeout and a pop out to end the game. 3.2 innings by Kevin with 0 runs on 2 hits, 2 BBs and 4 Ks.
  • Amazing game, Panthers! Photo gallery.

Varsity rescheduled to Friday and Saturday

Logan Balmanno leads the JV past Klein 4-2 on Monday!

  • Logan had a game winning two RBI double in the bottom of the 6th - scoring Kaden Kleinert (single) and Luke McCoy (walk) - for the 2nd and 3rd runs. Way to go, Logan! Congratulations, Panthers!

Sophomores fall to Klein 8-3 on Monday

  • The Bearkats scored two in the 2nd, three in the third and three in the fifth to put the game out of reach.
  • The Panthers were led by Carson Ritz with two hits and Michael Dungan with a two RBI double.

Panthers sweep Klein Forest on Friday, but it wasn't easy!

  • The Sophomores made it look easy with a 13-0 win after 4 innings. The Panthers scored 3 in the first, 3 in the 2nd and 7 in the third while Bryce Burks pitched a 2 hit, 1BB gem. Matthew Battista had three hits and Bryce Burks two, both totals included a double.
  • The JV also made it look easy, winning 11-1over five innings. Luke McCoy pitched a complete game, 3 hit, 3BB and 8 Ks and he also blasted a monster HR for one of his two hits (4 RBIs). Myles Castor had three hits while Kaden Kleinert and Jake Laird also had two hits. All three of those guys had doubles.
  • The varsity had to work - for three hours - for their win! But, God bless them, they got it done! That's what winners do.
  • Devon Patel got his first varsity start and he was solid - 4 innings with 2 runs allowed on 6 hits and 3 BBs with 6 Ks. He left with a 5-2 lead. But the Panthers couldn't hold it - a series of walks and balks and errors allowed KF to tie the game in the top of the fifth.
  • The Panthers were struggling at the plate - except for a Dalton Eggleston HR in the 1st - against KF's excellent starter. But the Panthers made him through 41 pitches in the 1st, so he exited after five innings (and 108 pitches!). In the bottom of the 6th Brent Morgan singled, Kyle Bearden walked, Bryson Kemp was intentionally walked, Tyler Thompson made them pay for that with a single, Dalton Eggleston walked (after a brilliant at bat), scoring a run and then Cash McNicholas also walked, scoring the 7th run.
  • After a leadoff out by pitcher Tyler Thompson, Tyler gave up two walks. Enter Kevin Hoy on the mound. Kevin struck out the first guy and got a ground ball to end the game. Nice job by Kevin, who also made it look easy! Panthers win, 7-5! Congratulations, Panthers!
  • Photo gallery - varsity. Diamond Girls Senior Recognition Night. Others may be coming.

  • Brent Morgan, Kyle Bearden, Tyler Thompson, Dalton Eggleston and Josh Rodriguez all had two hits for the Panthers.

JV loses to Klein Forest 7-6

  • Klein Forest was fired up and ready to play when the game started. The Panthers were just flat. They attempted a comeback with three runs in the fifth and two in the sixth but it was too little, too late.
  • Miyes Castor had three hits, including a double and Kaden Kleinert had a triple to lead the Panthers.
  • Photo gallery

JV falls to Mustangs 11-6

  • The Panthers suffered a horrible third inning. The damage was largely self-inflicted with several errors. The worst part was a game-ending injury to starting pitcher Logan Balmanno. Logan will be back.
  • Ethan Litherland came in to finish the game for the Panthers. He allowed a single run with 3 hits and 1 BB with 2 Ks.
  • The Panthers fought back but ran out of time when the time limit kicked in after five innings. Proud of the continued battle, Panthers!
  • Photo gallery.

Sophomores beat Memorial 5-4!

  • Bryce Burks got the start for the Panthers and battled for four innings. Clayton Westbrook finished the job for the Panthers.
  • Bryce also led the offense with two hits.

Varsity beats Memorial 2-0!

  • Cash McNicholas was nearly perfect on the mound - 7 innings with only two hits and 1 walk with 7 Ks. Way to go, Cash!
  • It's a good thing too because the team that made this game look so easy on Saturday at College Park made things look mighty tricky tonight. But they did make the plays when they had to, especially in the 6th inning which began with two Mustang baserunners and no outs. A nice play by Cash on an attempted sac bunt erased the lead runner at 3rd. Another nice play by 3rd baseman Adam Houck got another out at first.
  • The Panthers two runs came in the second on a leadoff double by Dalton Stevenson, an RBI single by AJ Wilson and an RBI double by - guess who - Cash. Photo gallery. [Pre-Game photos added Thursday 3/15 at 3 pm. Senior Night pics are linked above.]
  • Get another win at MHS on Thursday, Panthers!

  • Luke McCoy and Walker Swenson pitched, with Luke (4 innings) collecting the win.

Sophomores lose a close one to Memorial, 7-6

  • Memorial got a walk-off single in the bottom of the 7th that scored a runner from 2nd to defeat the Panthers.

Varsity drills College Park 12-4 in 6!

  • Hunter Smith was exceptional on the mound for the Panthers - 5 innings with 3 runs on 6 hits and 1 BB with 2 Ks. Nice work, Hunter!
  • Mason Dietel faced one batter and retired him in the 6th. Justin Barnes closed the deal.
  • Bryson Kemp had three hits - including a double - to lead the Panthers. Tyler Thompson and Wesley Casey both had two hits. Cash McNicholas had a triple and Warren Blair a double.
  • Nice win to head into district play, Panthers! Photo gallery - All 1800+ pictures are now posted. [That ought to be enough for a six inning game!]

Sophomores fall to Tomball 6-5

  • The Panthers surrendered 5 runs to Tomball in the top of the 5th and final inning.
  • Ryan Collins did a great job on the mound for the Panthers in the 1st four innings - 1 run on 2 hits with 4 walks and 3 Ks.
  • Ty Franklin and Carson Ritz both had two hits, with Carson collecting a double. Colin Lovelace had a triple.

Sophomores beat The Woodlands 9-8!

  • The Panthers scored 7 runs in the bottom of the fifth and final inning to pull it out.

Varsity falls to Atascocita 9-6

  • The Panthers out hit the Eagles 10-7 and committed no errors (vs. 3) but that wasn't enough as Atascocita scored six in the sixth to take command.
  • Kyle Bearden had three hits and Tyler Thompson two to lead the Panthers.

Varsity beats Oak Ridge at OR 10-7!

  • Congratulations to the Panthers on a huge, much needed win!
  • Kevin Hoy got the start and pitched four strong innings. 3 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks. Devon Patel finished the job on the mound with the final 2 innings.
  • The game was tied at 7 going to the bottom of the 6th. Brent Morgan singled, then Warren Blair singled after a balk and the single scored Brent with what became the winning run. Bryson Kemp doubled. A Tyler Thompson single scored Warren and Bryson and the game ended in the sixth on the time limit. Great job, Panthers!

Sophomores win a wild 4-inning contest over College Park!

  • Should we be upset that the Panthers blew a six run lead in the top of the 4th or happy that they pulled it out on a walk off single by Braden Burciaga (scoring Ryan Collins) in the bottom of the 4th?
  • Burciaga led the offense with two hits.

Varsity falls to Kingwood and Marcus

  • The Panthers couldn't manage a run against Kingwood in the second consecutive meeting, dropping the decision 8-0.
  • In the second game against Flower Mound Marcus the Panthers trailed 9-1 going into the bottom of the 7th before rallying for 5 runs. That's where things ended though, with the Panthers on the short end of a 9-6 final. Brent Morgan had two hits - including a double - to lead the Panther attack. Warren Blair had two hits.

Varsity drops 9-4 decision to Kingwood despite 10 hits.

  • Warren Blair, Blake Fortunato, and Wesley Casey all had multiple hits, with Warren going 3 for three. But it wasn't enough to beat the Mustangs (7 hits).

Sophomores defeat Kingwood 11-6!

  • Colin Lovelace had a pair of doubles to lead the Panther attack. Burton Bryce and Evan Shore also had doubles.
  • Anthony Venturella, Clayton Westbrook, and Colin Lovelace combined for the win on the mound.

JV falls to Kingwood 6-3.

  • Colton Hitt had a homerun to highlight the game for the Panthers. The hits were tied at five.
  • Photo gallery.

Sophomores split a doubleheader agains College Park.

  • The first game was tight, with the Panthers dropping a 3-2 decision despit a really nice effort on the mound by
  • In the second game, the Panthers dominated, winning 15-2. The Panthers plated nine runs in the first inning to really put the game out of reach. Then Burks Bryce pitched a great game, allowing 1 run on five hits and 2 BBs with 7 Ks. Nice work, young man!
  • Burks and Burton Bryce both had two hits for the Panthers in game 2.
  • Photo gallery - Mr. Nelson's photos from game 1 are posted; others are coming.
  • We're proud of you, Panthers. Go beat Kingwood!

JV falls to Cy-Fair 6-2.

  • When you outhit the other team 5-2, you should win. But the Panthers commited 4 errors, vs. 1 for the Bobcats.
  • Go beat Kingwood, Panthers!

Varsity falls to Cy-Woods 6-3.

  • I think you can chalk this up to a bunch of really tired Panthers. They just didn't have the energy or enthusiasm of the previous two days. They tried valiantly, but it just wasn't there. And, aginst the Wildcats, you have to bring your A game.
  • The good news is that KO pitcher Kevin Hoy made his first appearance, in relief of Cash McNicholas. And he looked good! The coaches limited his pitches, and Justin Barnes finished that game well.
  • Photo gallery.

JV blasts Cy-Creek 7-2!

  • Cameron Tobola got the start and the win with an excellent five inning 1 hitter! 6 Ks and 5 walks. Caleb Ausmus finished things off in the 6th.
  • Coy Garner and Jackson Jaratt both had two hits. Lawson Wachel had a double. Nice work, Panthers!
  • In the second game the Panthers tied Cy-Ranch 6-6 after scoring five in the fifth and final inning.

Varsity defeats Cypress Christian 9-6!

  • The Panthers run their winning streak to five behind an excellent performance on the mound by Sophomore Billy Brown! Billy allowed five runs over 5 1/3 innings. [Pretty good for a guy who isn't on the varsity roster, don't you think?] Way to go, Billy! Justin Barnes finished the job on the mound for the Panthers.
  • Bryson Kemp and Tyler Thompson both had home runs for the Panthers! Bryson, Hunter Smith and Adam Houck all had multiple hits for the Panthers!
  • Our varsity Panthers are starting from scratch this year. A slow 0-3 start didn't dissuade these guys from believing in themselves. Since then they are 5-0. That's pretty darn impressive, but this is an impressive group of young men. The leadership in the dugout is outstanding, and that's really huge. Keep it going, Panthers! We love you guys!

Varsity beats Sealy 8-5!

  • Dalton Eggleston allowed two first inning runs to the Tigers but then threw zeros on the board in the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings.
  • The Panthers answered with four runs in the bottom of the first and three more in the bottom of the 2nd before adding an insurance run in the sixth. Tyler Thompson led the offense with three hits, including a double. Hunter Smith had a triple and Bryson Kemp a double.
  • Photo gallery.

Correction! Sophomore doubleheader begins at 10 am!

  • That's Saturday 3/3 at College Park. Let's go Oak!

JV falls to Cy-Woods 9-2, beats Langham Creek 4-0 on a Luke McCoy no-hitter!

  • The Panthers managed just four runs and committed five errors. Ethan Litherland is usually golden but he didn't have it this day on the mound.
  • The Panthers beat Langham Creek 4-0 after 1 in the nightcap. Luke McCoy pitched a complete game, five inning no hitter, striking out 2 and allowing just 2 baes on balls. Nice, Luke! Colton Hitt and Jake Laird both had two hits for the Panthers.

Varsity defeats Cy-Fair 4-3 and Jersey Village 8-0 on Thursday!

  • The Panthers scored two in the first against Cy-Fair but fell behind 3-2 in the top of the 7th. However clutch doubles by Brent Morgan and Dalton Eggleston in the bottom of the 7th made the difference for the Panthers in an esciting finish! Tyler Thompson went most of the way for the Panthers on the mound, relieved for one inning each by Mason Dietel and Justin Barnes. Way to go Oak!
  • In the second game the Panthers scored six in the bottomo of the second and then watched Logan Balmanno pitch a shutout. Two insurance runs in the bottom of the 6th ended the game on the 8 run rule. Photo gallery.

Varsity beats Woodlands 6-0!

  • The Panthers notched their first win of the season - the first among many for this talented squad - thanks in large part to the bulldog desire to win of winning pitcher Cash McNicholas. 0 runs on 2 hits with 8 Ks and 5 BBs over 5 2/3 innings. Cash's attitude is contagious and I'm betting his teammates catch it. Justin Barnes preserved the shutout with 1 1/3 innings of relief. No surprise there either.
  • Brent Morgan, AJ Wilson and Bryson Kemp each had two hits for the Panthers. But it was AJ Wilson's 4th inning home run that busted things open for the Panthers. He got 3 of his 4 RBIs on that swing.
  • Congratulations, Panthers. Build on this! Believe in yourselves because you deserve it.

Varsity falls 8-3 to TWHS in 1st game of doubleheader.

  • Dalton Egelston was the hard luck loser for the 2nd time this week despite a really fine performance on the mound. Dalton also lead the offense with two hits.
  • The Panthers just couldn't mount much offensively against a really good TWHS pitcher.
  • Photo gallery.

JV falls to Woodlands 11-5

  • The Panthers managed just five hits against 11 for the Highlanders. That was the difference
  • The 2nd game of the planned doubleheader was cancelled to allow the varsity teams to play at Panther Field since "Scotland Yard" was not playable today.
  • Photo gallery. [Just realized these all have "spring" file names. Your webmaster was processing KO basketball playoff pictures previously. Thus the error. Ignore the filenames please.] Myles Castor has eight stiches but he returned to the field during the varsity game, looking remarkably good.
  • JV headshots gallery - Not related to this game, but here they are.

Varsity falls to Foster 10-0 in 4 innings.

  • The Panthers didn't get a hit much less a run against Foster.
  • Tyler Thompson took the loss on the mound.
  • The Panthers will regroup for a couple of games at The Woodlands on Saturday. Let's go Oak!!

JV Tournament Cancelled; Sophomore Tournament Cancelled

  • The Klein ISD JV Tournament at KF has been cancelled. Coach Burks is working on trying to get a game. Stay tuned.
  • The Cy-Fair ISD Sophomore Tournament has been cancelled

JV downs Seven Lakes 8-2!

  • Ethan Litherland got the win on the mound for the Panthers, with relief from Devon Patel and Caleb Ausmus.
  • Jake Laird, Colton Hitt and Ty Sommer all had two hits for the Panthers, with Colton and Blaine Birner getting doubles.

Sophomores defeat Seven Lakes 9-8!

  • The Panthers scored seven in the 6th and two in the sixth to snatch the come-from-behind win over the Spartans at Seven Lakes. A Michael Dungan double in the top of the sixth scored two runs to make the difference for the Panthers.
  • Clayton Westbrook got the win on the mound for the Panthers.
  • Photo gallery - courtesy of Mrs. Suzy Broussard!

Varsity falls to Seven Lakes 3-0

  • It was a pitchers duel and KO's Dalton Egelston held the Spartons to just one first inning run through five innings. However, that was more than the Panthers managed for the evening (on three hits). The Spartons scored two insurance runs in the sixth inning on homer that happened after the inning should have been over.
